Iran to Drill 12 Wells in Kish Gas Field by March 2014

Iran will most likely drill 12 wells in the first phase of Kish gas field development plan.

Operator of the project Homayoun Kazemaini said development plan of the gas field has predicted early production of 100 million cubic feet of gas per day from two or three wells, Shana News Agency reported.

Kazemaini pointed that construction of a 92 km gas pipeline, of which more than 30 km is complete, is also on the agenda for injecting gas from Garzeh region to 7th Iran's gas trunk line, Shana said.

According to the official, negotiations are underway with a domestic contractor for development of the second and third phase of Kish gas field which is expected to be finalized in the near future.

An initial study has estimated in place gas reserves of Kish gas field at 66 trillion cubic feet and about 514 million barrels of gas condensate trapping in 4.400 meters deep reservoirs.

Preliminary studies also indicate that gas output from the field will be 3 to 5 billion cubic feet per day in early stages.
