Iran Starts Drilling 12 Wells in Kish Gas Field

Iran has started drilling 12 wells in the Kish gas field, head of operational district of the gas field was quoted as saying by Shana news.

Speaking on the sidelines of the 9th International Energy Exhibition in Kish Island, Alireza Qanei, said that Iran’s Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) plans to start early production from the giant gas field.

He estimated in situ gas reserves of Kish field at 60 tcf, equivalent to six phases of South Pars gas field reserves, Shana said.

According to Qanei, different scenarios have been designed for gas production and the most appropriate one will be chosen for development of the field after finalization.
