Iran’s Petrochemical Exports Unchanged in Value, Soars in Volume

Iran exported 14.109 million metric tons of petrochemicals, valued at $8.205 billion in the first seven months of the current Iranian fiscal year, which started on March 21.

Despite a 36.36% rise in volume of petrochemical exports, revenues rose by just 0.01% compared to the same period last year, according to the Iran Customs Administration's report, released on November 10th.

Petrochemical exports value accounted for 34% of Iran’s total non-oil exports in the first seven months of the current Iranian fiscal year.

Meanwhile, the country exported 1.933 million tons of liquefied propane (+42%), worth $947 million (-24.75%) and 1.179 million tons of liquefied butane (+26.73%), worth $596 million (-36.60%) during this period.

The country produced 44.5 million tons of petrochemicals in the past Iranian calendar year, a rise of over 10% from the 40.5 million tons it produced in its preceding year. Iran is set to produce 47 million tons of petrochemicals in current fiscal year.

Iran's gas condensate export also increased by 1.78% in volume to 11.338 million tones, but dropped by 40% in value to $4.877 billion.
