Iran-Oman Pipeline Expected to be Complete in 2-3 Years

Omani Oil Minister Mohammed bin Hamad Al Rumhy said last week that proposed Iran-Oman gas pipeline is expected to be complete in 2-3 years, reported news agency Shana.

The Omani minister is in Tehran to attend the ministerial meeting of the Gas Exporting Counties Forum (GECF).

Al Rumhy said a joint committee has been established by the two countries to push ahead with the pipeline project and the pipeline project would depend a lot on technical design and pipe laying, the news agency added.

In August, the two countries inked a gas supply deal where Iran would supply gas to Oman for 25 years via undersea pipeline. The deal has been valued at about $60 billion.
