Iran, Kuwait Willing to Jointly Develop Arash Gas Field

Iran and Kuwait have shown willing to develop the Arash gas field, which is also known as Al-Doreh gas field, reports Iran’s IRNA news agency.

The field is jointly owned by Iran, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. The total proven reserves of the Arash gas field are around 20 trillion cubic feet and production is slated to be around 1.5 billion cubic feet/day.

The issue came up during a meeting between Iranian and Kuwaiti energy officials in Tehran on the sidelines of a recent visit by Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sahah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to Iran.

Sheikh Sabah arrived in Tehran last week to discuss the latest regional and international developments and explore new avenue for consolidating Iran-Kuwait all-out ties in meetings with senior Iranian officials, reports IRNA.

Kuwait has also shown interest in importing Iranian gas. Earlier this month Iranian Deputy Oil Minister Ali Majedi said  Kuwait has become the second Persian Gulf state which has expressed interest in importing Iranian natural gas.
