Iran, Iraq to Sign Gas Deal on Sunday

Iran and Iraq are set to sign a gas deal on Sunday where Tehran will supply natural gas to its neighbour’s Al-Baghdad and Al-Mansouriyah power plants, an Iranian official told Press TV.

Iran would be pumping 25 mcm per day of natural gas to the two Iraqis power plant. The country would receive nearly $10 million a day $3.7 billion per year from natural gas exports to Iraqi power plants.

Gas pipeline between Iran, Iraq and Syria has been under way since last year, Press TV said. The pipeline will be designed to enable gas delivery to countries like Jordan and Lebanon in the future.
