Indonesia’s Energi Mega Expects Higher Gas Output from Bentu Block

Energi Mega Persada (EMP) announced on Wednesday that it expects higher average gas output from Bentu block in Riau province, Sumatra, Indonesia.

In the past one week, Bentu has been producing at an average of 45 million cubic feet gas per day. This is 40 percent higher compared with the average 32 mmscfd of gas during the first quarter of this year. Most of the gas from Bentu is delivered to state power firms.

At the end of March, it was estimated the block boasted of 356 billion cubic feet of proved and probable gas reserves. 

Bentu is one of the 12 oil and gas assets operated by EMP in Indonesia and Africa. The company operates over 220 million barrels equivalent of proved and probable oil and gas reserves. In the first quarter 2014, EMP produced over 51,000 barrels equivalent per day.

Energi Mega currently has full ownership of the Bentu block.
