Indonesia Will Open 14 Oil, Gas Blocks for Tender in May

Indonesia will offer 14 new oil and gas working areas for tender in May, oil and gas regulator SKKMigas said earlier this week.

The formal announcement is expected to be made during Indonesian Petroleum Association (IPA) Conference and Exhibition 2016. On offer will be 11 conventional blocks and 3 unconventional blocks.

Of the 11 conventional blocks on offer, four will be through regular auction and seven will be through direct sales, SKKMigas said. Oil and gas blocks to be offered through the regular auction are South CPP, Suramana I, South East and North Arguni Mandar. While oil and gas working areas that will be offered through direct proposal are Bukit Barat, Batu Gajah Dua, Kasongan, Ampuh, Ebony, Onin, and West Kamana.

Unconventional blocks on offer will be Batu Ampar, and the Bunga Mas and Rasa coal bed methane gas blocks.
