India's ONGC Gas Output Rises

Indian state-owned oil and natural gas explorer ONGC’s natural gas production during the 12-month period to March 2018 increased almost 7% compared with the previous 12 months, Indian oil minister Dharmendra Pradhan told the Rajya Sabha, the lower house of the parliament last week.  

ONGC, India’s biggest gas producer, produced 23.5bn m3 of natural gas during the 12-month period to March 2018 compared with 22.08bn m3 during the year-ago period. The company’s onshore gas production was 14.37mn m3/d while its offshore production was almost 51mn m3/d, the minister said.

India’s total gas production during the 12-month period to March 2018 was about 33bn m3, according to the latest data published by its oil ministry.
