India's May Gas Production Down 1.5% on Year

India’s gross production of natural gas for the month of May was 2.72bn m3, down 1.5% year on year, according to data published June 20 by Indian oil ministry's Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC).

The cumulative gross production of natural gas in the first two months of the current financial year (April 2018-March 2019) was 5.39bn m3, up 1.7% year on year.

State-owned ONGC was the biggest producer followed by Oil India. ONGC's output in May increased 1% on year to 1.98bn m3 while Oil India produced 227mn m3 of gas, down more than 7% compared with same month last year.
