India's LNG imports up 18% in September

India's LNG imports for the month of September totalled 2.28bn m(approximately 1.75mn tonnes), marking an increase of 17.5% compared with the same period last year, according to the provisional data published by the country's oil and gas ministry's Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) on October 23. The imports were up 2.25% on a month/month basis.

For the first six months of the current financial year that began on April 1 (FY2024), cumulative LNG imports were 15.11bn m3, up 9.4% when compared with the corresponding period in the previous year.

In the fiscal year which concluded on March 31 (FY2023), India's LNG imports amounted to 26.65bn m3, reflecting a decline of 14.1% in comparison to the preceding year.
