India's LNG Imports in June Decline

After witnessing a modest 0.5% year/year growth in May, India’s LNG imports in June saw a yr/yr decline.

India’s LNG imports last month were 2.67bn m3 (1.9mn metric tons), down 6.9% compared with the corresponding month of the previous year, according to the data published by the Indian oil and gas ministry's Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell on July 31. Imports were, however, up 12.1% month on month, as India significantly eased the lockdown and demand for gas improved.

The cumulative imports in the first three months of the fiscal year (April 2020-March 2021) were down 12.5% yr/yr to 7bn m3, the data showed.
