India's LNG imports drop 16% in September

India’s LNG imports in September came in at 2.36bn m3 (1.74mn metric tons), down 16.3% year/year, the country’s oil and gas ministry's Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) website showed on October 17. The imports were unchanged month/month.

The cumulative imports during the April-September period, the first six months of the 2022-2023 financial year, were 14.7bn m3, down 11.3% yr/yr.

The LNG imports last month cost $1bn versus $1.3bn in the same month last year. The import cost during April-September was $6.6bn, up from $5.8bn in the same period last year, PPAC said.
