India's LNG imports down 15% in March

India’s LNG imports in March were 2.24bn m3 (1.65mn metric tons), down 15.2% year/year, the country’s oil and gas ministry's Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) website showed on April 20. The imports were unchanged month/month.

The cumulative imports of 26.65bn m3 for the 12 months to March 2023 (FY2023) were lower by 14.1% compared with the previous year.

The LNG imports cost $1.5bn in March, unchanged over the same month of the previous year, PPAC said. In FY2023, imports cost $17.9bn versus $13.5bn in FY2022.
