India's LNG imports drop 10% in June

India’s LNG imports in June came in at 2.45bn m3 (or about 1.8mn metric tons), down 9.5% year/year, the country’s oil and gas ministry's Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) website showed on July 22. The imports were down 2.5% month/month.

The cumulative imports during the April-June period (Q1 of 2022-2023 financial year) were 7.4bn m3, down 9.6% yr/yr.

S&P 2023

The LNG imports last month cost $1.2bn, up from $800mn in the same month last year. The import cost in Q1 was $3.4bn, up from $2.4bn in the same period last year, PPAC said.
