India's H Energy Could Supply LNG to Bangladesh from Terminal in Bengal

India's H-Energy East Coast Private Ltd (HEECPL) has sought clearance for a LNG terminal in West Bengal that will also supply gas to Bangladesh, bdnews24.com, a Bangladeshi news website reports.

The proposed 8 million tonne terminal is expected to come up in Digha off the coat of West Bengal and will not only supply gas to north and east India but also Bangladesh.

A pipeline line will transport gas to Indian industrial locations. Also, the company plans a pipeline for supplying gas to Bangladesh.

"It is definitely part of our overall plan for the LNG terminal. The pipeline to carry gas to Bangladesh will be laid from Haldia to Petrapole and then on to the gas grid at Jessore," a top HEEPCL official told bdnews24.com.
