India's gas consumption up 6% in January

India’s natural gas consumption in January was 5.18bn m3, up 6.4% year/year, the Indian oil ministry data showed on February 24.

During the April-January period, or the first 10 months of FY2023, the cumulative consumption of 50.84bn m3 was lower by 6.1 % compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.

The production of natural gas last month was 2.98bn m3 which was higher by 4% compared with the corresponding month of the previous year. The cumulative gross production of natural gas during the April-January period was 28.84bn m3, up 1.1% yr/yr.
