India's gas consumption down 5% in July

India’s natural gas consumption in July was 5.3bn m3, down 5.3% year/year, the country’s petroleum and natural gas ministry’s Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) said on August 24.

In the first four months of the financial year 2021-22, India’s gas consumption was 20.93bn m3, up from 18.87bn m3 in the same period of the previous year. Fertiliser, power and city gas sectors were the biggest consumers during the period.

India’s gas production in July was 2.89bn m3, up 18.4% yr/yr. In the April-July period, output was 11.06bn m3, up 2.9% yr/yr.
