Indian OVL to Bid for Lebanese Offshore Gas Fields

Indian ONGC Videsh (OVL), the overseas arm of state owned oil and gas company ONGC, will participate in the upcoming bid round for offshore gas fields in Lebanon, Indian oil minister Dharmendra Pradhan said July 10 in Istanbul.

Pradhan held a bilateral meeting with Cesar Abi Khalil, energy and water minister of Lebanon on the sidelines of the the World Petroleum Congress which is taking place in the Turkish capital, the minister said on Twitter.

“The meeting was important in the context of ONGC Videsh’s participation in the upcoming bid round for offshore gas fields in Lebanon,” Pradhan said.

Lebanon will open bids for offshore blocks 1, 4, 8, 9 and 10 soon. The process has already been delayed by uncertainties in the Lebanese domestic political space.
