Indian Oil's Ennore Terminal to be Ready by October

Indian Oil Corporation’s (IOC) Ennore LNG import terminal in the southern India state of Tamil Nadu will be operational by October this year, state industry minister MC Sapath told the state assembly June 7, Press Trust of India reported the same day.

The minister said that 92% of the project has been completed. Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) and IOC are jointly setting up the 5mn mt/yr terminal, which will supply regasified LNG to power plants, fertiliser units, households and transportation sector in the Manali region of the state.

The Ennore terminal will be located on India’s east coast. At present, all four operational LNG terminal in India are located on the west coast. In addition to the Ennore, few other terminals are expected to come up on the east coast in the next few years.
