Indian Gail 1Q Net Profit Drops 23%

Indian Gail's net profit came in at rupees 10.26bn ($160.06bn) for the April-June quarter, compared with rupees 13.35bn a year ago, a fall of 23%, the company said August 10.

The company's revenue during the quarter grew to rupees 115.7bn, from rupees 108.32bn in the same period a year back. This was mainly aided by a rise in revenue from its natural gas segment to rupees 85.2bn, it said.

During the quarter, the company registered growth in physical performance in liquid hydrogen sales, natural gas transmission and LPG transmission by 16%, 4% and 26%, respectively, as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, it said.
