Ichthys ships 500th LNG cargo

Inpex-operated Ichthys LNG project in Australia shipped the 500th LNG cargo from the onshore processing facilities near Darwin on March 31, the company said on the same day.

“With each Ichthys LNG cargo departing to customers across the globe, economic and social benefits flow back to Australia – and Inpex supports the world’s growing demand for energy security,” it said

Inpex made a final investment decision on the LNG facility in 2012 and gas production commenced six years later. Ichthys has a nameplate capacity of 8.9mn mt/yr.
