Hyundai Heavy Bags LNG Carrier Order
South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries has received an order from a Greek company to build a 174,000 m3 LNG carrier, it said April 15 with disclosing the identity of the company.
The LNG carrier will be equipped with Hi-ALS air lubrication system which improves the operating efficiency. The air lubrication system can save fuel consumption by 8%, Hyundai Heavy said.
With this contract, Hyundai Heavy said it has won orders for five vessels since end-March.
