Huawei to help oil, gas operators go digital

Chinese tech firm Huawei has launched a new solution designed to help oil and gas operators go digital, the company announced on November 14.

The solution includes several aspects of digitalisation, including campus security, production inspections and predictive maintenance. It aims to help oil and gas companies cope with risks, address data silos, quickly respond to emergencies and build robust information security systems, Huawei said. It will also help them reduce costs, expand reserves and production, and bring down CO2 emissions.

The solution, called Intelligent Oil & Gas Fields, was unveiled by Huawei at a summit in Abu Dhabi. In a speech, the vice president of Huawei's global energy business, Robin Lu, said digitalisation would be key for achieving carbon neutrality.
