Hoegh Takes Delivery of 9th FSRU

Oslo-listed shipowner, Hoegh LNG Holdings, said December 6 it took delivery the same day of Hoegh Gannet, its ninth floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) - or LNG import terminal.

It has regasification capacity of 1bn ft3/d (10.3bn m3/yr or the equivalent of 7.5mn metric tons/yr) and storage capacity of 170,000 m3 LNG; combined this makes it the largest FSRU in terms of capacity. South Korean shipbuilder, Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), built the vessel with a reinforced GTT Mark III membrane containment system and dual-fuel diesel-electric propulsion.

Hoegh Gannet was named in South Korea November 27 and its initial charter is to Spain’s Naturgy for 15 months as a standard LNG carrier where it will earn a fixed day-rate.
