Haldor Topsoe Welcomes New CEO

Danish refining and chemicals engineering firm Haldor Topsoe's new CEO Roeland Baan began work June 2, leaving the equivalent position at Finnish steel company Outukumpu.

He said that the company had "made a huge difference for the refining and chemical industries for decades" and it had the "the potential to expand this strong market position and lead the way into a more sustainable and energy-efficient future."

Baan was announced as new CEO on February 7, when board chairman Jeppe Christiansen said that Baan had "remarkable global experience and a proven track record of driving growth, developing businesses and building cohesive organisation." Baan follows Bjerne Clausen, who had been president and CEO since 2011, having joined the company in 1979.
