Gujarat Plans Fourth LNG Terminal

Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) has invited bids for development of greenfield LNG port terminal with Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) near Jafrabad in Amreli district in the state, according to financial daily Business Standard.

The western Indian state already has two operational LNG terminals each at Hazira and Dahej, while Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) is exploring interested partner for its liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal at Mundra, Business Standard said. The proposed Jafrabad terminal will be the fourth in the state.

Business Standard said that the terminal is expected to have a capacity of 10 million tonnes per annum (MMTPA).
