GTT Scores Order for LNG Bunkering Tank

French LNG engineering firm GTT announced on December 9 it had won an order from Chinese shipyard Hudong-Zhonghua for tank designs at an LNG bunkering vessel.

Hudong-Zhonghua is building the vessel for Japanese shipowner Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL), although it will be chartered by France’s Total.

The ship, with an LNG storage capacity of 18,600 m3, will be fitted with GTT’s Mark III membrane containment system, the French firm said. It is scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2021.

Total has signed long-term charter contracts with MOL for two LNG bunkering vessels this year.
