Golar Partners Appoints Interim CEO

Bermudan shipping fleet operator Golar Partners has appointed Karl Fredrik Staubo as interim CEO with immediate effect, it said May 1. This follows the announcement on October 1, 2019 that its current CEO, Graham Robjohns, would step down on April 30, 2020.

Staubo has 10 years' experience advising shipping, energy and infrastructure companies from Magni Partners. where he advised Golar; and Clarksons Platou Securities, where he worked in corporate finance and head of shipping.

Robjohns had held several different roles at the company and its affiliates including CEO, deputy CEO and CFO of Golar LNG. Chairman Tor Olav Troim said that he had played a vital role in the transformation of the Golar Group from a pure LNG shipping company to an integrated energy company.

He added that Staubo would guide the company through its next transition, as it has initiated a strategic review of the company with the target to conclude such strategic discussion within the next year. He said Golar Partners is well positioned with a revenue backlog of $2.1bn as at December 31, 2019, and a fleet of interesting assets to develop LNG infrastructure.
