Gladstone Port LNG Exports at 1.58 mn mt in March

Exports of LNG from Queensland’s Gladstone Port stood at 1.58mn metric tons (mt) in March, according to the latest data published by Gladstone Port Corporation. Exports were 1.56 mn mt in January.

China, South Korea and Japan remained the top destinations. Exports to China during the month were 684,997 mt compared with 595,641 mt last month. Total shipments to Japan was 268,344 mt compared with 191,418 mt in February. Exports to South Korea were 432,155 mt versus 506,136 mt last month.

Exports have risen as more coalbed methane-LNG trains have come on stream on Curtis Island. Gladstone Port expects the trend of rising exports to continue in the current year as well.
