Gladstone Port Exports 1.56mn mt LNG in February

Exports of LNG from Queensland’s Gladstone Port stood at 1.56mn metric tons (mt) in February, according to the latest data published by Gladstone Port Corporation. Exports were 1.69mn mt in January.

China, South Korea and Japan remained the top destinations. Exports to China during the month were 595,641 mt compared with 656,744 mt last month. Total shipment to Japan was 191,418 mt compared with 334,637 mt in January. Exports to South Korea were 506,136 mt versus 565,881 mt last month.

Exports have risen as more coalbed methane-LNG trains have come on stream on Curtis Island. Gladstone Port expects the trend of rising exports to continue in the current year as well.
