Gladstone Port Exported 1.42mn mt LNG in October

Exports of LNG from Queensland’s Gladstone Port stood at 1.42mn metric tons (mt) in October, according to the latest data published by Gladstone Port Corporation.

Exports were 1.56mn mt in September and in August were 1.51mn mt. China, South Korea, Japan and Singapore were the top destinations. Exports to China during October were 660,600 mt compared with 660,541 mt in September. Total shipment to Japan was 201,008 mt compared with 336,694 in September. Exports to South Korea were 300,121 mt compared with 310,782 mt in September.

Exports have risen as more coalbed methane-LNG trains have come on stream on Curtis Island. Gladstone Port exported 12.2mn mt of LNG during the fiscal year 2015-2016 that ended on June 30, 2016 compared with 1.61mn mt during the last fiscal year. It expects the trend to continue in the current fiscal year.
