Ghana Web: West Africa Gas Pipeline: Mahama’s priority project as Ecowas chair

Newly elected chair of the Economic Community of West African States (Ecowas) John Dramani Mahama says he will focus on three key areas including galvanizing support for the West African Gas Pipeline project during his tenure.

According to Ghana’s President, who is the third from the country to chair the sub-regional body, seeing that project work will “guarantee energy security for our people”.

President Mahama made this known in his acceptance speech to the Authority of Heads of State and Government of Ecowas.

He also expressed resolve to intensify efforts in introducing a single currency for the sub-region. MORE
