GE Wins Gas Gen Order in Senegal

General Electric (GE) reported on January 28 it had secured a contract from West African Energy for gas power generation equipment for a planned 300-MW combined-cycle power plant in Dakar, Senegal.

The Cap des Biches station is due online in 2022 and will be the biggest source of power in the country, generating 25% of national demand. GE will supply two 9E.03 gas turbines, one STF-A200 steam turbine, three A39 generators, two heat recovery steam generators and additional equipment, it said.
