Gazprom Upped European Exports by 8.2 Per Cent in 2011

Figures released by the export arm of Russian Gazprom, Gazprom Export, have shown that the company increased its export amounts to European customers by 8.2 per cent last year.

2011 saw the company increase its supply from 138.6 billion cubic metres of gas in 2010 to 150 billion cubic metres. The figure, though an increase on last year, falls short of estimates released by Gazprom at its annual general meeting in June of last year, which expected export mounts to reach 155-158 billion cubic metres.

Turkey saw the biggest increase in supply, after Gazprom's domestic customers, with an increase of 44 per cent in supply to 26 billion cubic metres. Italy took third poisition for increased supply, with an increase of 31 per cent to 17.1 billion cubic metres.
