Gazprom Updates on Power Of Siberia Operations

Russia has supplied 3.84bn m3 of gas to China via the Power of Siberia pipeline since it became operational a year ago, Gazprom said on December 2 in a statement.

Prior to the coronavirus pandemic, Gazprom was aiming to send 5bn m3 of gas to China via Power of Siberia in 2020. China has scaled back imports this year amid a slowdown in gas demand growth caused by the pandemic.

Power of Siberia supplies have recovered, though, with Gazprom reporting that November was the second consecutive month in which deliveries exceeded the planned level, by 13.6%. Daily supply was also up 16.2% on the level in October, Gazprom said, with disclosing the quantities.

The company said it was preparing tor ramp up gas exports further in 2021. Power of Siberia has been pumping gas from the Chayandinskoye gas field since December last year.
