Gazprom, TotalEnergies mull joint projects

Russia's Gazprom and France's TotalEnergies have discussed cooperating in upstream oil and gas projects overseas, the former company reported on June 3.

The two firms held talks on June 3 as part of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum. In addition to upstream operations, they also discussed LNG trade.

TotalEnergies has a 35mn metric tons/year LNG sales portfolio, and is looking to double its size within the next decade. It is also a partner at Novatek's Yamal LNG and Arctic LNG-2 projects in the Russian Arctic. Gazprom, meanwhile, operates the Sakhalin LNG plant in the Far East.

Gazprom and TotalEnergies are partners at the Ipati and Akio oil and gas fields in Bolivia.
