The Russian Gas Road Show delivered a message that Russia was "serious about creating a favorable investment climate” to move forward with increased gas production.

With Gazprom facing changing dynamics in the natural gas marketplace, the Russian gas giant stepped up its engagement with the international investment community, making a visit to court financial players in the Nordic countries.

Led by Deputy Chairman of the Management Board - Head of the Finance and Economics Department, Andrey Kruglov, the delegation stressed stressed that sustainable, long term nature of Gazprom's investments minimized potential operational and financial risks. The company also identified its significant level of disclosure in the results of its operations that it publishes on a voluntary basis.

In particular, Gazprom pointed to its report on activities in the field of sustainable development as of interest to Nordic investment firms committed to socially responsible investment policy.

At Gastech, Deputy Minister of Energy Pavel Federov has stated that Russia was prepared to invest in gas infrastructure, looking to the future with a long-term perspective. Attracting external investment is critical to these plans and Russia is proposing new incentives for development, encouraging predictability for investors.
