Gazprom, Slovenia Set Up South Stream JV

Russian major Gazprom has announced that it, together with Slovenian transmission operator Plinovodi, has created a new joint venture to handle the implementation of the South Stream pipeline in Slovenia.

In a statement issued late yesterday evening, Gazprom said that the South Stream Slovenia LLC joint project company had been set up earlier this week, on Wednesday, together with Plinovodi.

The announcement was made following a meeting with Gazprom CEO, Alexey Miller yesterday and Plinovodi's Director General,Marjan Eberlinc, and Head of the Project Management Department, Leonid Chugunov.

Gazprom says that the South Stream project is running as planned in Slovenia, according to schedule. At the meeting, the next steps of South Stream in Slovenia were also highlighted with Plinovidi executives saying that the first constituent meeting of South Stream Slovenia's shareholders will be held early next month in Ljubljana.
