Gazprom, Sibur to Co-operate on Gas Projects

Russia’s top gas producer Gazprom and leading petrochemical manufacturer Sibur have signed two roadmap agreements to co-operate at major gas processing and gas chemical investment projects. The documents were signed on October 3 at the St Petersburg International Gas Forum.

Under one agreement, the pair will draw up a feasibility study for the transport of ethane-containing gas from fields in the Yamalo-Nenets region and the construction of a gas processing plant in Tatarstan. Under the second, they will carry out diagnostic work, engineering surveys and project documentation for the completion of the Novy Urengoy gas chemical complex in Yamalo-Nenets.

The two companies will decide whether to co-operate further on these projects based on results from these studies.
