Gazprom Seeks Nord Stream Capacity Boost

Russian export monopoly Gazprom is tendering for engineering services that could result in the existing Nord Stream 1 line and the planned Nord Stream 2 line being able to export another 10bn m³/yr combined.

Gazprom Bank's electronic trading platform sent out an invitation to tender for an investment plan to expand the unified Russian pipeline system (EGS) in order to allow the two subsea lines to each carry another 5bn m³/yr or 120bn m³/yr in total. Responses are due by November 8 with the results to be assessed ten days later.

The operator of Nord Stream 1 told NGW November 4 that its guaranteed technical design capacity is 55bn m³/yr, and referred further enquiries to Gazprom, which did not reply as of late Friday.
