Gazprom, Kazakhstan Discuss Gas Cooperation

Chairman of Gazprom's Management Committee Alexey Miller and Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev met yesterday to discuss gas cooperation between Gazprom and Kazakhstan, a Gazprom statement has said.

The discussion happened while Gazprom was on a delegation visit to Kazakhstan and saw the Gazprom chief and Kazakh President talk about potential prspects for cooperation between the two. 

In particular, the Gazprom statement said, the two sides discussed the further cooperation of Gazprom and state-run gas company KazMunaiGaz in relation to natural gas marketing and processing at the Orenburg Gas Processing Plant (GPP).

The two parties also discussed the implementation of joint projects in the areas of hydrocarbon exploration, production, processing and distribution.

President Nazarbayev also met with CEO of Italian company Eni, a statement from the Kazakh president press service said, to discuss particularly the Kashagan and Karachaganak fields, as well as other projects in the country.
