Gazprom’s Exports to Italy Increased 76% Year-on-Year

Russia’s Gazprom increased its natural gas exports to Italy by 76% in the 11 months of 2013 in comparison with the same period of 2012. 

According to the company led by Alexey Miller, 2012 supplies were 15.1 billion cubic meters (bcm). Therefore, the 2013 supplies could jump up to 26.576 bcm. 

Miller met Cesare Maria Ragaglini, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic to Russia on Tuesday.

A press release states that the meeting participants addressed the status of the Russia-Italian cooperation in the energy sector, with a special attention to the South Stream project. 

Italy is the terminal point of the South Stream gas pipeline. It is also the third largest gas importer of Russian natural gas in the world following Germany and Turkey
