Gazprom Finds Two More Yamal Fields

Russian gas giant Gazprom has discovered two new fields in the far north, Dinkov and Nyarmeiskoe, with combined reserves of 500bn m³ under the Russian measuring system, it said May 17.

Gazprom said the Dinkov field is within the Rusanovski licensed block in the Kara Sea and its recoverable reserves in the С1+С2 categories total 390.7bn m³.

Nyarmeiskoe's reserves are a third of the size but it is described as a large field with recoverable reserves of 120.8bn m³ using the same method.

As the output from Gazprom's Urengoi and Yamburg fields in western Siberia shrinks after decades of operation, the company is turning to reserves under the Yamal Peninsula for replenishing its supply portfolio. It has already brought the Bovanenko field there into production.
