Gasum Snaps up Biogas Plant

Finnish gas supplier Gasum has bought the Skovde biogas plant from Torran Gas Holding, it announced on November 2, as part of efforts to expand its cleaner fuel business.

The Skovde plant can produce up to 40 GWh/yr of biogas with the right feedstock, Gasum said. The company already has 50% shares in two biogas plants in Lidkoping and Vadsbo and plans to build another in Gotene.

"The transaction is an integral part of Gasum’s strategy execution to accelerate growth for cleaner fuel solutions across the Nordics," Gasum CEO Johanna Lamminen said. "We are excited about this acquisition, as it allows us to increase our volumes of in-house produced biogas and add greater value to our existing portfolio of biogas plants."
