Galilee completes Glenaras 24 well in Queensland

Sydney-listed Galilee Energy has successfully completed the drilling of Glenaras 24, the first well of this year’s programme at the Glenaras gas project in Queensland, it said on April 27.

Glenaras 24 was the first well of the 2022 vertical programme which includes the drilling, completing, connecting, and powering of an additional five vertical wells. The well was drilled to a total depth of 1,057 m. It intersected all coal seams on prognosis with a total of 26 m net coal intersected.

The well was completed within schedule despite in excess of 100 mm of rainfall, Galilee said. The mobilisation of Silver City Rig 23 to Glenaras 26 will be undertaken once the site and access roads have dried out.

Galilee in February completed a share placement programme to raise approximately A$11.8mn ($8.5mn) to fund the five-well programme.
