Gail's Q1 Profit Up

India’s biggest gas distribution and marketing firm Gail registered a 2% year on year increase in stand-alone net profit in the three months to June (Q1 2020) thanks to better financial performance by gas marketing, gas transmission and liquid hydrocarbon segment, it said August 9.

Its stand-alone net profit in Q1 was rupees 12.88bn ($180mn) as against rupees 12.59bn in the same quarter of 2018. Compared with the Q4 2019, profit was up 15%, it said. Gail said its revenue from operations came in at rupees 184.81bn, up 5.17% compared with the year-ago period.

On a consolidated basis, net profit was 15.04bn up 4% year on year, Gail said.
