French Firm Wins $900mn UAE Tube Order

French tubing and casing producer Vallourec has secured a five-year supply order worth $900mn from the UAE’s state-owned oil company Adnoc.

The requested supplies range from standard American Petroleum Institute (API) pipes to high-end oil country tubular goods (OCTG), for use at conventional and complex wells at onshore and offshore fields, Vallourec said in a statement on September 9. The Paris-based company said it would also supply a range of “from mill to rig” services.

Vallourec said the deal was one of its biggest international awards, highlighting the “competitiveness of its new manufacturing routes as well as its comprehensive offer of products and services.”

The contract allows for a potential two-year extension. Delivery is due to begin in the second half of 2020.
