France's Doris Completes Oz Field Study

France’s Doris Engineering May 16 said it recently completed an engineering study of the Equus gas field offshore Western Australia. The field is operated by Perth-based Western Gas.

“The Paris and Perth teams successfully interfaced with Western Gas which allowed Doris Engineering to demonstrate its strong capabilities in performing screening and concept select studies for subsea developments,” the company said.

Recently, Western Gas said it is looking for partners  to develop the Equus gas field. The Equus project comprises an independently certified resource of 2 trillion ft3 of gas and 42mn barrels of condensate. The project is located in the North West Shelf, and Western Gas says it is surrounded by world-class infrastructure, production facilities and pipelines, providing access to Western Australia’s gas market.

Western Gas acquired the Equus project from Hess in November 2017. It plans to flow first gas in 2023.
