FLNG Projects Are Opportunities For Private Sector, Says Teheran

Iran’s Deputy Petroleum Minister for Planning and Monitoring of Hydrocarbon Resources Mansour Moazzami said that Teheran will give priority to export gas to neighbouring countries with respect to Europe, which will still remain high on the Iranian agenda.

“FLNGs are opportunities for the private sector” he explained, as reported by Shana, a news agency linked to Iran's Oil Ministry.

According to Moazzami, the country is going to export gasoline, gasoil, and mazut from 2016.

He also claimed that the measures taken by President Hassan Rouhani will increase crude oil production for 200,000 barrels a day from 2,700,000 bpd in two years.

Last week, Hamidreza Araqi, managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company, said that Teheran is interested in exporting gas to Europe, either through pipelines or as LNG.

“It is economical to export gas to the neighboring countries. Following the nuclear agreement, it is possible to export gas to Europe through Turkey too” Araqi commented.
